The Original D/s (BDSM) Checklist

I am the creator of the original D/s (BDSM) checklist.  I first wrote the checklist in the 70's and published the checklist back in 1982.

A bit of history- Back in 1982 my checklist had over 160 items.  I created the list as a way to check off things to see if there was enough play interest with potential playmates, which was easier than trying to remember it all when planning play with them.  Back when the Internet was not so big, we talked about my checklist and other BDSM things on a private mailing list where it was understood that you didn't steal people's work and plagiarize it or post it anywhere else without permission from the author.  As a lot of us have learned the hard way, people post copyrighted work on their web sites all the time, and people plagiarize things almost as much.

About 1996 I found a person using my checklist claiming they just happened to find it on a web site.  I had NEVER given anyone permission to post my work.  After e-mail exchanges with this person and because he seemed above board, (I believe he was a member of a mailing list I was on) I gave him permission to put my checklist on his site.  Only recently I have found out he claimed that he expanded my checklist greatly.  This unfortunately is not exactly correct.  He never had my permission to expand my work, mainly he added some sub categories.  I didn't have a bunch of sub categories for all my activities listed, so he added a few.   Sub category examples of mine- Pain- heavy, Pain-mild.  Yes he did come up with a few things I didn't think of but not an overwhelming number of additions.  

I NEVER gave him permission to add to my work and/or make it public domain.  It is not public domain.  It is my copyrighted work.  Since the gentleman I gave permission to is no longer living and his web site is being kept online in his memory the confusion continues.  I have made efforts to get this corrected but so far this has fallen upon deaf ears of those maintaining the site.

Currently there are only a few websites that have my permission to have my checklist or part of my checklist on their web site, and they clearly have a notice of permission listed with a link to this site.  Unfortunately people continue to have my work on their web site and/or in books without my consent and this continues to be an issue.  Hopefully web sites will do the correct thing so my list can still be a resource for those into or wanting to explore BDSM.

So if you see my checklist (or part of it) on another BDSM site without credit to me, please let me know.   They are violating copyright laws.

Today I feel my list is even better as it has grown to over double the size I started with back 20+ years ago.

Even though I created this checklist for submissives to fill out, Dom/me's should also fill this out to learn more about yourself and your likes and dislikes.  Remember as you grow in BDSM your answers will change, so you may have to update your answers from time to time.

Instructions

Below is a list of D/s (BDSM) activities that you may find helpful in guiding your servitude.  This is a list meant to be filled out by you the submissive, for MY use.

Col 1-Answer YES or NO next to each item to indicate if you have ever DONE that activity.

Col 2-For each YES indicate for each item how you FEEL about that activity.
Scale of 0 to 5.  A zero means you did not like that activity but you are willing to do it to please me.  5 means the activity is a wild turn-on.  D/k means I don't know what this activity is and need a definition.  N/a means "not sure I am willing to share this activity at this time."

Col 3-If you have never done this activity before (answered NO), use the 3rd column to indicate if this is an activity you want to explore/try.  Answer YES, NO or Not Yet next to each item to indicate if you wish to try the activity, not try the activity or not try the activity yet but open to try in the future.

Col 4-For each YES or NOT Yet, indicate for each item how you FEEL about exploring that activity by rating it on a scale of 0 to 5.   A zero means you are willing to explore this activity to please me.  5 means the activity is something you are dying to try, other numbers indicating some level in between those two.
